<p>We have received several calls regarding students with disabilities participation in graduation activities and graduation ceremonies. Students with disabilities on high school diploma or certificate of completion tracks may participate in graduation ceremonies and activities. (Education Code 56391) Please ensure that all districts know and understand the statue that allows students with disabilities to participate in graduation activities and ceremonies. <p>We have also received calls and requests about Algebra 1 requirements for graduation. Completion of Algebra 1 is a requirement of all students. Students with disabilities must also meet this requirement. A waiver may be filed for students with disabilities. The official letter from the California Department of Education is available at.</p>
